CCarol Levers has been elected Chairman of the United Way of Wyandotte County Board of Directors. Carol joined the United Way of Wyandotte County Board of Directors in 2009. In January of 2019, she began her two-year term as board chair, where she works to facilitate leadership and governance for the organization, including: setting priorities and culture for the board, managing the agenda and tone of meetings, and promoting United Way in the community. Congratulations Carol and thank you for your continued work for the betterment of the Wyandotte County community.

Member Spotlight – KCK Women’s Chamber Members Tapped by the Governor
Governor Laura Kelly named a 45-member Governor’s Council on Education to advise her on education issues ranging from K-12 education to higher education and how best to serve the students and the state’s businesses. Cathy Harding, Wyandotte Health Foundation CEO & KCKWCC Board President was appointed along with Irene Caudillo, El Centro CEO and KCKWCC Scholarship Committee member. The panel has been tasked with how to improve outcomes, ranging from fully funding schools to evaluating the education process and planning to improve outcomes from early childhood education to workforce issues.
Cathy Harding was also appointed, along with Rep. Kathy Wolfe-Moore, to Governor Kelly’s newly formed bipartisan working group of healthcare stakeholders to spearhead Medicaid expansion efforts in 2019. She tasked the group to provide input on her legislative proposal to expand KanCare – the state’s Medicaid program – and to help shepherd the proposal through the Kansas Legislature.
